I used Anne Bright design called "Cotton Candy" and Superior Thread King Tut called "Sandstorm. She was very happy with the quilting in both quilts. I went to the Home Machine Quilt Show in Salt Lake City May 7-11. It was the 11th year of the show that has classes with top teachers for all over the country and world. The classes were on longarm and domestic quilting. I took 3 classes which were Georgia Stull "101 Ways To Boost Your Quilting Business", Gina Perkes " Bling On" which was about crystals, beads and glitter, and Shelly Sieverkropp about making sure your quilts are square. I entered 2 quilts in the show to be judged and got good reviews. It was so neat to see my quilts displayed in a national show. My friend, Cindy entered to 2 quilts in the show. It was great to see Cindy and meet 2 new quilt friends( Vicki and Jo). Cindy lives in Salt Lake and meet her at MQX Portland 2011 as roommates. She has family in Oregon so I get to see her when she comes for a visit. Vicki is from Kansas City and was a Facebook friend of Cindy's. I had a roommate for 2 days from Rusk, Texas named Jo. She had entered 2 quilts in the show too. I ready enjoyed the classes, special exhibits, quilts show, vendors and a tour of the Temple Square and choir rehearsal of the Mormon Tabernacle choir. Here are pictures of some of the show. I didn't take a lot of pictures because I ordered the CD of the show.
March, 2014, I found some fabric by Elizabeth Studio that had vintage trailers on it. My sister-in-law, Mary brought a vintage trailer in February. I decided to make her a quilt for her trailer. I wanted to give it to her when they came out in May. I wanted to post pictures of it but waited because she might see it on my blog. Randy(my brother) and Mary came out last week for 4 days. It was fun to give it to her to celebrate her vintage trailer and turning 60 in April. I used Anne Bright Design called "Cotton Candy" with Superior Thread King Tut called " Autumn Days". Here are pictures of the quilt.

The previous pictures the binding wasn't on the quilt. I had started the pattern in a different fabric and didn't like it. I decided to make a table runner with them. Here are a few pictures of the quilt displayed on a chair and the table runner.
Last month went by so fast and I wanted to post a quilt that I finished in April. It is a pattern from Karla Alexander called "Giant Rail Waves". I call my quilt "Wild and Crazy". It is fabric from Dianne Springer. I used Wildflower Quilting design called "Playful" and Superior Thread King Tut "Joesph's Coat". It is fun to do curves but it is a challenge. Here are a few pictures of the quilt.

I went to college at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas in the 70's. I lived in a dorm with a room mate and 2 suite mates because we shared a bathroom(4). My suite mate was my friend, Jan. We have stayed in touch over the years. I have been to her house in Houston twice after going to the International Quilt Show. She and her family came out here last summer to visit us and explore our beautiful state. She has a collection of frogs and asked me to make her a wall hanging with frogs in it. I found a cute fabric and made 2 quilts(wall hangings). I used Anne Bright design "Cotton Candy" with Superior Thread King Tut "Pharaoh Tales". She got them this week and loves them. I really enjoyed making them for her.
