My customer Shari last month wanted me to do the quilting on 2 quilts. One was a comfort quilt(charity quilt) for the guild. I used a pattern from Anne Bright designs E2E called "Denali". Here are a few pictures of the quilt:

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show

On Saturday, July 13,2013 was the 38th Quilt Show. It is the largest outdoor quilt show in the USA. I went very early to get a parking space near the Stitching Post. I did get a few early pictures of hanging the quilts and then my battery went dead. There are so many quilts hanging all over town it is impossible to see them all. Here are a few pictures:

Sisters Quilt Week

Last week, my husband and I went over to the Sisters/Bend area for quilt week in Sisters. We stayed at Tumalo State Park between Sisters and Bend. I attend a 2 day Hibiscus class with Melinda Bula on Monday and Tuesday. It was a lot of fun. Melinda is an excellent teacher. I took a 2 day class with her at Sisters 2 years ago and loved it. Happy Summer

It is hard to believe that June is almost over and 4th of July will be here in a week or so. I didn't get much quilting done the first part of June due to family visiting. It was great to have my sister-in-law Wilma and brother-in-law Bob come for a visit. Bob had never been to Oregon and it had been 7 years since Wilma was out here. They got married 6 years ago and had meet Bob only once. My father-in- law Gene has been visiting with us since the end of May. He will fly back to Denver on Wed and my sister-in-law Wendy will drive him back to Kansas. I did start a quilt project last week with my Accuquilt. I made a table runner with a pattern from Quiltmaker 100 blocks with bright batiks. I received 2 quilts from Shari last week too. She made a comfort quilt for the guild and a pirate quilt. I started on the comfort quilt and have it almost done. Next month, I'm taking a 2 day class with Melinda Bula at Sisters Quilterfaire. We are staying a week at Tumalo State Park for a week. We will attend the Sisters Quilt Show on Sat. We plan to explore the area that we haven't seen since we moved here. I'm the new secretary of my quilt guild and will start on July 2. Shortcake

The picture on my blog is a quilt that I started at Winter retreat in Newport this past Jan. It is called Shortcake by Cluck Cluck Sew patterns. I finished it in April and quilted it in May. I used a E2E design from Anne Bright called Denali which turned out great. Here are a few pictures that were taken at Detroit Lake in May.

International Quilt Market Spring 2013 Portland

This a summary of attending Quilt Market with my friends Paige and Cindy. It was wonderful experience to be able to attend another Quilt Market. The last time it was in Portland was 5 years ago and I went with Paige. This time was more special because I have my own quilting business. The Quilting World is amazing. I can't wait until it come back to Portland. Next year, Quilts Inc is going to have a new show here called Quilt Sew Knit. It is exciting news to have a show in Portland.
