Paige's Cowboy Quilt

I finished a quilt for my friend, Paige which was a cowboy print with black borders. I used Anne Bright design called Cotton Candy with Superior Thread King Tut called St George. Here are some pictures of the quilt.

Very Braidy Christmas Runner

February Snow Storm 2014.

We had a HUGE SNOW STORM move in on Thursday-Sunday which left us 14-16" of snow. This a rare snow event for the valley floor(Willamette). It was very pretty but don't like snow. Thank goodness I didn't have to drive anywhere. I have a few pictures of our front deck area and house. I was able to finish the binding on a quilt that I made in November. I made a Christmas runner in December from Legacy Patterns called Very Braidy Christmas. I finished the quilting on it with a Anne Bright design called Cotton Candy. I used Superior King Tut called Cleopatra. It was easy to quilt it on my mid arm.

Here are a few more pictures of the retreat.

Greenbaum's Winter Retreat 2014

Last weekend, Paige and I went to the annual winter retreat in Newport for 3 days(Friday-Sunday). Greenbaum's Quilted Forest in Salem has the retreat every year. This was our 3rd retreat and we always come in on Thurs to enjoy the coast and to get set up. We had an ocean view room on the 3rd floor. The retreat has 76 quilters in a huge meeting room with ocean views working on their own projects. There were different demos given by teachers from the store during the 3 days. I worked on a quilt pattern by Karla Alexander called Savanna which uses one of her rulers with curves. I finished the quilt this week. Paige worked on a quilt pattern by Karla Alexander called Junk Jewelry. The weather was spectacular with sunny skies and warm temps. Saturday, they have a dinner for all the quilters. We are signed up for next year. Paige gives me an early B-Day gift by paying the deposit. Here are pictures of the retreat:
